Meet Saraswati: From Abandonment to Sanctuary

Sraswati on the first day of rescue and after complete recovery
A Life Discarded
Saraswati, a young Jersey calf, was found fallen in a drain after being abandoned by dairy farmers. When we discovered her, she was suffering from severe hypothermia, weakness, and paralysis - discarded because she was deemed unlikely to become a profitable milk-producing cow.
Emergency Rescue and Care
Our team immediately shifted Saraswati to our shelter where we began intensive treatment for her multiple health issues. Her paralysis was so severe that we had to use bamboo sticks as support to help lift her up and encourage her to stand, working patiently to rebuild her strength day by day.
A New Beginning
Through weeks of dedicated care, proper nutrition, and gentle rehabilitation, Saraswati made a remarkable recovery. Today, she lives safely under our lifetime care, valued for who she is - not for what she could produce.
The Cruel Economics of Dairy
Saraswati's story exposes the harsh reality of the dairy industry's treatment of female calves. When young cows show signs they may not be fertile or productive enough, they're often abandoned or discarded - their lives deemed worthless if they can't generate profit.
A Call for Compassion
Every glass of milk supports an industry that treats sentient beings as mere production units. Saraswati was fortunate to find sanctuary, but countless other "unprofitable" calves face abandonment or slaughtered.
Choose plant-based milk alternatives and reject this commodification of innocent lives. Go vegan and align your compassion for all sentient beings through your ethical choices.
When we choose compassion, we affirm that every animal has inherent worth beyond their economic value.
