The Emergency Call

We received a call regarding a cow whose "body parts were hanging out". When we arrived, we found Mehak suffering from a severe prolapse - a serious medical condition that required immediate intervention to save her life.

Critical Care on the Streets

Understanding the gravity of the situation, we immediately called a veterinarian on the spot. The vet carefully performed the delicate procedure right there on the street, gently repositioning the prolapsed tissue and securing it with precise stitching.

Recovery and Release

Following the emergency procedure, we transported Mehak to our shelter for continued care. With daily monitoring, proper nutrition, and loving attention, she gradually regained her strength. After weeks of dedicated care, Mehak made a full recovery and was released back to her territory.

A Horrifying Reality

Mehak's condition, like many we encounter in dairy cows, is often a result from the physical strain of repeated pregnancies and inadequate care in the dairy industry. The most common sause of a prolapse is calcium deficiency, a mineral drained out of them every time we take their milk.

A Call for Compassion

These beautiful, sentient beings deserve better than a life of exploitation and neglect. Every time we choose plant-based alternatives over dairy products, we take a stand against this suffering. Mehak's story is a reminder that behind every glass of milk is a mother who has endured immense physical and emotional pain.
