A Chance Encounter
Hazelnut's rescue was pure serendipity. As two of our volunteers were heading out for dinner in Gautam Nagar, New Delhi, they spotted a tiny kitten inside an apartment building's gate, walking in a disoriented, wobbly manner. Despite the kitten's obvious distress, the security guard had paid no attention to his condition.
Immediate Intervention
Recognizing that something was seriously wrong, our volunteers immediately rescued Hazelnut and rushed him to a veterinary clinic. The little kitten received stabilizing treatment and was kept under close observation as his symptoms suggested possible neurological issues.
A Foster's Love and Second Opinions
We quickly found a compassionate foster family for Hazelnut and sought additional veterinary expertise to better understand his condition. The diagnosis painted a concerning picture: vision impairment, circular walking patterns, a tendency to bend toward his left side, and noticeable pain in his neck and shoulder blades.
The Road to Recovery
Based on the symptoms, veterinarians suspected physical trauma as the underlying cause. Hazelnut was placed on a treatment regimen of steroids and supplements, along with receiving his essential vaccinations and deworming.
Miraculous Transformation
As the medication took effect, Hazelnut's recovery was nothing short of remarkable. His wobbly walking steadied, his vision returned, and his playful kitten personality began to emerge. Soon, he was confidently climbing onto beds and jumping down—a far cry from the disoriented kitten found at the gate.

The most beautiful part of Hazelnut's story came when Pranay, his foster parent, and his three roommates, Megh, Tanya, and Srishti realized they couldn't imagine life without this special little fighter. What began as temporary care blossomed into a permanent adoption, giving Hazelnut the loving forever home he deserved.
